Working from home and tax benefites, if any?

Looking for more help, if anyone can assist!

I am a National sales manager based in the East Midlands currently. My company has two offices, head office in Devon and a warehouse in Lancashire. It is not feasible for me to be based from either of the work premises. On average I work 5-6 days from home doing admin, in room made into an office.

Can I claim any benefits towards electric/heating, and if so how do I do it? Through work or tax office? Would company be affected by me doing this?

Also, my last job was regional sales position. I lived and worked in Yorkshire, however offices were in Midlands. Was employed to work from home, and did admin 2-3 days a week at home. Could I claim anything for this, employment was 15 months approx, but different and past tax office from current employer.

Thanks for reading and any help you can offer.

The agreed HMRC rate for using a room at home for work is £3pw. In order to claim, your contract of employment must specify that you work from home and you simply write to your tax office to claim. Your tax office will also deal with a similar claim in respect of your previous employment - same conditons apply.

Presumably someone in HR, or your manager.
