Cheap prices for nuts & berrys anyone

Bit random but does anyone know of any websites where you can buy cheap nuts & berrys, seeds etc rather than paying the price of supermarket prices. :-)

Do you have a Home Bargains close by? They sell packets of nuts and seeds cheaply.
You could also try Julian Graves.

  • when I used to live up north, there was a shop which had huge tubs of nuts, seeds etc, where you filled up bags and it was sold by weight. I would also suggest asian, chinese and turkish/iranian etc supermarkets/shops as a good place to pick up stuff like that on the cheap.
  • I don't know if it's a Northern thing but there are certainly weigh shops in most towns up here, which is where I get all my nuts and seeds for much cheapness.

I havent seen a weigh and save in years :(

I get mine either at Julien Graves or Holland and Barrett - keeping an eye out on deals. Julien Graves often have a half price on everything and 2 for 1 specials. H&B do sometimes have good prices - always worth popping in if passing see whats on special
  • dont you find though that people alwasy stick their hands in the seeds & nuts or sweets at the weigh in place?

We have to hope that they are adults and use the shovels provided or have at least washed their hands.
  • found this very old thread after doing a google search, I've been reading about the Paleo diet, based on the cave man diet of lots of nuts, seeds, fruit, veg and lean meat.
I'm looking for cheaper places to buy nuts and seeds. H&B are very expensive, but the supermarkets take the mick with prices on nuts. I used to live opposite Shepherds Bush market, there's 2 lovely ladies in their selling massive 1kg bags of either almonds, brazils etc for £5! Tesco charge about 4 times that amount.
I don't live their anymore, so does anyone have any good suggestions?
