We got our 4 year old son Postman Pat DS game for Christmas. Some of the games you can use the stylus and there are two modes where one of the modes tells the child what to do (in case they can't read the text like mine).

He learnt very quickly how to use the stylus and controls, and quickly moved onto games that you can only use the controls for like Mario Kart.

Games that say for 3+ doesn't actually mean that a 3 year old would be able to play them. It simply is a classification to say that it doesn't contain any "nasties",the same way as in film classifications.

There is a Crayola colouring one Crayola Treasure Adventures which has colouring in on it. Also 'I did it Mum' Comes in boy and girl versions. I would have thought that the likes of Postman Pat and Diego would have been ok too. Carnival Funfair isnt too taxing either.
  • I would agree with I Did it Mum and Mario Kart.

I've got 3 & 6 year old boys who got DS's for Christmas and of the 10 games they received between them these are the two they play most

My 6 year old DD likes a game called Bunnyz, which she loves, and her friend has a similar game with Hamsters. They are simple enough, but need to be able to read really to be able to play them. They use the stylus, not the controls.

We've also just got the Postman Pat one, not tried it yet, pleased that it has been recommended. You could also try looking at the reviews on Amazon, I've found them helpful in the past.

They also do reviews on play.com - I have had quite a few games from there but worth comparing prices as they do vary a lot at times!
