I was just wondering if any of you could recommened anything! don't want to spend the earth as trying my hardest to pay off debts at the moment, but I will be getting money from my family so should have a reasonable amount...

It can't be anything tooo girly as dh will be with me obviously....

  • We did the same thing for my 40th.

We stayed at the Mandeville Hotel which is just off Oxford Street on Mandeville Place - www.mandeville.co.uk. There are lots of other hotels in the area and its perfect for the shops in Oxford Street, Regent Street etc and central for the sights.

The area also has loads of restaurants to choose from and a villagey sort of atmosphere.

We also went to 3 west end shows when we were there: Grease, We Will Rock You and the Sound of Music. We went during the week and one of the shows was a matinee - that kept the costs down a bit.

For my 40th, me and 2 friends booked ourselves into a top notch Hotel near Shaftesbury Avenue on the Friday night. Dropped off our luggage, and hit the town. Had a meal in a posh restaurant, took a ride on a riksaw all round Covent Garden and Seven Dials, spent some time in a few trendy pubs. Next day, after a hearty breakfast in the Hotel, made our way to the Theatre to see the Saturday matinee showing of Daddy Cool. Fantastic treat, and relatively cheap too.
    keep smiling,

If you are after a show and dinner, then I can recommend booking tickets through this site - I've used them many times before and always found them to be great value.
