Does Abbey do a 95% LTV 5 yr fix?

Hi there,
Wonder if anyone can help?
I read in an article that Abbey is one of the only lenders offering 95% LTV at the moment (others being Ipswich and Yorkshire/Clydesdale BS) and indeed their wesite confirms this. However, I rang up and was informed that 15% deposit was the lowest they would be able to give a mortgage on (this wasn't related to my circumstances as I wasn't asked anything about myself).
Does anyone know whether the website is just out of date, or whether it is possible to get this mortgage? (Or alternatively, do you know of any other lenders that are offering 95% LTV?).
And, one more question - amongst those in the know, is the general consensus that LTVs will only get stricter this year, or will 95% start reappearing more throughout the year as a result of the bailout activities? I'm well aware that 95% LTV would mean fairly instant negative equity at the moment, but if I could find a 'motivated' seller I could mitigate this risk somewhat with a low offer. No point wasting people's time viewing and making low offers unless I know I can get the funds.
Many thanks

so after calling the abbey & speaking to the staff plus reading the website, you still doubt them!!0

Umm...yes, because the information on the website and the information I was given in the telephone conversation are at odds with each other.0

Thanks Squish_21, but I understand that Nationwide 95% mortgages are only available to existing Nationwide borrowers for now.0

Take a look at http://www.moishealexander.com and http://www.canadianfundingcorporation.com, one of them may be able to help you out, there's references to over 90% LTV closing there.
Moishes post is SPAM - Reported.0
