My level of knowledge is clearly much greater than yours!
HSBC is 100% direct but that is irrelevant just as the example of BoS is. If your knowledge was so good you would know BoS's direct lending was via the Halifax brand

BoS is 100% intermediary and nothing to do with the halifax, a BoS mortgage is a BoS mortgage not a Halifax mortage!

As I thot!! Your level of information is as much use as a chocolate teapot!!!

For yr information the only way a BoS mortgage can be obtained is thru an intermediary..........If you go to a Branch of Bank of Scotland you are offered a Halifax mortgage................So much for yr knowledge..............spouting u described me!!!......yr shameful to boast of knowledge

that is not BoS direct lending they ONLY lend to intermediaries

Hey folks,
Ok, Just to finish off i suppose..........This post went a little to hectic for my liking.
Britannia Finally faxed over mortgage offer to solictor on Monday 9th Feb.

We have not received a hard copy yet, but all feels better now.

I spoke with a financial advisor and they highlighted Britannia have been slow lately with paperwork, so it appears as though regardless of who made the application - i.e me or a financial advisor the lenght of time would be still similar.........Though probably quicker i did it direct as we were current customers on their system already.

Thanks again for the comments - However i would agree that having a financial adviser would be beneficial as they too would take some pressure of the situation.

Thanks for the update.

A financial adviser (mortgage broker?) may have found you a better deal. Equally, (s)he may have introduced another risk of delay.

Thanks for your comments, thats exactly why i stuck with Britannia to be honest.
The deal I was getting was ok, But what made it decent was my base rate tracker being ported across.

My main intention was to not have any delays by staying with the Britannia.

All seems to have worked out now. I Now have a completion date scheduled and all is swell.
