Getting a Mortgage while BRU

I am about to be discharged in March from my BR and would like to buy a house and here comes the BUT.......... I have a BRU until May 2012 and wanted to know what if any my chances were of buying a house.

I have a large deposit and £70K income......Any chance?

Are you aware of the restrictions imposed by a BRU & the implications if these restrictions are contravened.......

I've always wondered where bankrupts find large deposits.

I imagine the Official Receiver would share yr sentiment Silvercar..........
  • Firstly I don't have a large deposit personally but my partner has alot of equity in their house and we were looking to buy together so I don't have £££'s stashed away from the OR.

Secondly the restrictions say I can have credit BUT I have to inform any lender of my situation

I am not a "dodgy" character but I made a few mistakes at a young age and now I am paying the price........although I would like to start again.

Your best bet would be to speak to a whole of market broker.
It is going to be possible but there's not enough information here to go on anyway.

A BRU has the same effect as a BRO but does not involve going to court. The restrictions imposed by a BRU, they are the same as those that apply to an undischarged bankrupt.

I should have added yr chances are nil............
