Apparently there is something that will get the stain out:

It's quite expensive, but cheaper than a new carpet, so get on the phone to Barrs!
It's only a game

Dont bother with the stuff Irn Bru tell you to use (from Kirby) it DOESN'T WORK!!! £40 a pop and it just lessens the stain but doesn't shift it - believe me - like a mug I bought another lot thinking maybe it was just going to take a lot of the stuff to shift it - but no.
Thinking of emailing Irn Bru to complain (and poss get money back) as it was THEM that said this stuff works.

I've managed to get rid of my iron bru stain on the carpet! I followed raffe's tip and used the vanish powder (The one that you can soak clothes in or put in the washing machine). I had to leave it for about 18 hours but it has gone!!![STRIKE]December low - £3012 January low - £2589[/STRIKE]

I also bought £40 Kirby Stain Remover, complete waste of money. I now have Orange Irn Bru stain with outer brown circle around it caused by Satin Remover. Thanks for Vanish tip, I'll give it a try. By the way Barrs re-imbursed £15 as a goodwill gesture!0

All this negativity towards the bru.....the hangover cure, the prevention of the sickness of pregnant ladies (cos we all the secret is ginger;)), the wonderful adverts that never fail to make you laugh
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR-YN--dA-0&feature=related (no its not the snowman) ......but the vanish does work well :rotfl:

I had a similar problem a few years back when dd spilt almost a whole 2 litre bottle of fizzy (can't remember which but it was purple ) I made up a solution with household bleach, cold water and a little washing up liquid and washed/rinsed several times. It took a while but we managed to get it out after a few weeks - managed not to bleach the pale blue carpet either! It is normally safe to use a weak bleach solution just remember you can always make it stronger if you need to so start off with a little bit
. I would think it would be fine on your cream carpet, just test a little where it has stained.

You can pour neat bleach on a polypropylene carpet and it won't affect the colour, if you use the weakest solution possible (bleach and water) on a wool carpet, you'll have ruined it.Bulletproof0
