Can anyone share/advise on ideas for a present for a 60th wedding Anniversary.
I liked the Gold jar idea for a 50th but cannot think of anything similar for a 60th (can't afford diamonds..) As you have such a lot of good ideas on here thought I'd ask for some help. Fingers crossed.......

Something 'sparkly' or wrapped in sparkly paper, decorated with diamantes or rhinestones eg decorated plant pot. I saw a plain frosted bottle of water decorated with the word 'BLING!' it looked really good0

You can apply for a congratulations card sent from the Queen for 60th anniversarys - I believe it's free.
How about naming a star as stars are sparkly? http://www.freenameastar.com/register.php You print the certificate yourself and could maybe roll it up like a scroll and tie with ribbon or laminate it.
How about a journal jar for the two of them to complete- http://organizedchristmas.com/adult-journal-jar

You could include 2 notebooks with the jar so they each write their own version of the same event. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

For my grandparents 50th Anniversary I made up a DVD of all photos from when they were young, when the got married, had children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, put some 50's music as a backing, and some quotes inbetween some of the pictures, We played it on a big screen at the party. They said it was the best present they had ever had, all the family have copies of the DVD now!:xmassmile Looking forward to December:xmassmile0

I've just applied for one for my Mum & Dad, you will need a photocopy of their marriage certificate and as I want it to be a surprise for them I rang the register office direct. I knew the church they were married in etc so just paid over the telephone, the cost was £8 for the marriage certificate and it only took a couple of days to arrive with me.
You then have to send a photo copy of the certificate, along with a completed request form to Buckingham Palace, not more than 3 weeks before the event. All the info and the form is at:

There is no cost for the card from the Queen
Happy Anniversary to you all for later in the year.Grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can and the wisdom to know it's me"0
