Money Saving At It's Best

I went to try on wedding dresses today to get an idea of what cut/style would suit me, I had the intention of ordering from Landy or purchasing second hand. I took my mum and my cheif bridesmaid with me. I tried on several dresses and fell in love with a beautiful Mark Lesley £1000 gown, well out of my budget and I thought there was no way in hell I would ever get a gown like that until my mum god bless her said her and my Dad would buy a (that!) dress for me. They've never spoilt me, I never imagined they would give anything towards the wedding let alone pay for my dress as my mum has done nothing but say that she thinks we are spending too much on the wedding anyway.

On top of that with a bit of haggling we managed to get them down to £800 as we also purchased 3 Mark Lesley Bridesmaid gowns at £200 each at the same time, my bridesmaids have agreed to pay half the price of their dress and they get to keep them so I was still within my budget for bridesmaid dresses :T all in all a very productive day as I managed to get my tiara for £8, brides and 3 bridesmaid bouquets for £60, a 3 tier polka dot cake for 150 people for £140 and 2 5 pc boys suits for £25 each. I've also made my wedding invites this afternoon, 50 invites has cost me less that £13 :T

How fab that your parents have treated you to the dress of your dreams and that you negotiated a discount on it too:j

When it comes to your flowers - buy flowers grown in the UK and those that are in season as they will be cheaper than those grown abroad.

I'm having artificial flowers, it allows me to have the look of exotic flowers at a lot cheaper price :rotfl:
