Maybe so, but your name isn't going into the satellite. The thing is automated and someone has failed to end it, but the submission date has long passed.

Says on that page, November 1st 2008 is the deadline.

Shame it never said it on the original link and you had to dig around to find it. Oh well never mind, bound to be more "send your name" missions in the future. Anyway if you click around Nasa's missions there's tons of free education resources to print off and toy with.
