Do i need to buy an ipod?

Hi all,

I got hold of the whole set of Harry Potter audio books a couple of days ago, and foolishly thought I'd be able to listen to them on my MP3 player. Not happening. It seems I may need to buy an IPOD!? Not too happy about that. Anyone know whether this is the case and if so, how much I am looking at for a basic one?

Thanks.

Duncan

Almost certainly not. What is the extension? (Right click on the file > Properties > Under General, see Type Of File).

Oh, good. It's an M4B file. Says Quicktime next to it, too.

Thanks so much. I thought I was gonna have to fork out some cash for a moment! Sounds time consuming but nothing that's beyond me. I'll give it a go before I go to bed, or in the morning. Thanks again.

Er, sorry to appear thick. I have put the file onto a blank CDR.
I don't have ITUNES on my PC, though. I have Realplayer and Windows Media Player. I assume I can't just use one of these. Do I have to download some Itunes software then?

Again, sorry to be a pain!

  • What MP3 player are you trying to put it on - have you tried simply dragging and dropping?

Yeh, seemed to go on, but when I try to play it just does nothing.

Aaaaagh, please don't leave me high and dry. I have now downloaded I Tunes, but having never even set eyes on it before, I just can't work out what I need to do to swap the files to MP3. I've spent the last 40 minutes playing around, but no joy. Would really appreciate a bit of guidance from some clever chap or lady.

    Thanks.
