standard life pension

i have 20k approx in a standard life pension. Is there any way of comparing the performance of each of the funds?.When you go on their site you can get daily prices and graphs of performance but its hard work chosing because you have to pick funds then review the graphs.

Standard Life have information on their website. Trustnet, an independent stats site, will also have them.

I assume you are not using past performance as an aid to pick your future investments though. You should never do that after a market crash, almost as much as its not good after a sustained period of growth.
its hard work chosing because you have to pick funds then review the graphs.

Trustnet then is your best bet if you want a free site. The best stuff costs you though and far too much for a consumer to pay.

  • No good looking at graphs of the past. You need to decide where you want to invest your money and how much risk you want to take with it. How long until you retire is a big factor. If you can not answer these things yourself then either pay for some advice or put the lot into a SL managed one fund which is a mix of equities and bonds.
Another site to check out is hargreaves lansdown and check out the wealth 150 fund recommendations - you could do worse than pick 2 or 3 of those.

Another site for comparing fund performance:

    https://www.citywire.co.uk/Funds/Home.aspx

Select "ABI" for insurance company funds, "IMA" for unit trusts. The SL funds may be in either category.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
