I checked with Experian in October and don't recall seeing a 'score' per say. It just had all my credit details - well not all. For one thing it didn't mention my BR and only a handful of my previous creditors were listed.

You have to pay £5.99 extra or something like that for a score.

Apart from it being next to meaningless, I just can't be bothered.

The Experian credit score does not represent whether you are likely to get credit or not. I had a score of 999 for many years but have not always been able to get credit. Lenders used to look mainly at payment history but now look at credit limits, available credit, how many accounts are active, how many dormant and payment amounts (whether you pay minimum or maximum on credit cards for example). Then of course they have their normal affordability, customer history etc. I wouldn't waste money on the Experian credit score. It really doesn't mean anything in the real world.
  • if i need credit ill apply direct to gordon brown and cut out the middle men

If you're applying to GB to get your £4,000 be sure to apply for your wife's £4,000 at the same time.

The point is to ensure that once the bankruptcy disappears from your file, all the old defaulted debts do as well as they should.

If you don't and they are dated later than the bankruptcy order, then your credit reference file will still be stuffed even though the bankruptcy itself has gone.
