Hi
I have been invited to attend an interview for a Maths faculty assistant post. Does anybody know the sort of questions that the interviewer may ask? I really would like to get this job but I am can't seem to find out what sort of questions I may be faced with. I have had a quick look around on search engines for information but can only find it for teachers not assitants.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance

What exactly does the role involve? If it is similar to being a teacher the questions may be similar0

The role involves general administration work, and then when a teacher is off I would be expected to cover the class. Other maths teachers would set the students work and then I would be expected to distribute the work to the students and supervise them. I have looked at the school's website from which I have obtained some of the information that I may need. What exactly does the role involve? I have no teaching training experience as the position just requests that you are educated to GCSE level and have experience of working with childen for which I have.0 -
Probably looking for an adequate mathematical ability and may also be looking at your language skills so students are not mis-taught?
ie knowing that the interviewee is the person being interviewed and those carrying out the interview are the interviewers.
I don't think you can really second guess this.
Just answer the questions in an honest way and indicate if the school has an 'approved' way of teaching a topic, that you would of course adhere to that method.:o0 -
Ok, some possibles
what are your strengths and weaknesses?
why do you want this job?
what characteristics do you have that fit you to work with children?
why this post?
why this school?
why do you like maths/why is it important
what do you do if student ignores you/wants to confide something that you think may reveal abuse?
what would you do if you don't agree with the teacher's methods
will that do for starters?! remember to smile in your interview! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
