Hi,i have a bad credit rating from a few years back and am a tenant so I am finding it impossible to get a personal loan. I was wondering if anyone knew whether I can get a loan if my parents were to guarantor this and what companies would entertain this idea?

    Thanks, Nat[/quote]
  • So are you saying that Barclays may do it IF you have some pull or coax the bank manager into it? Do you know of any other lenders besides FLM? The maximum they give is £3000. I am starting graduate school in September and am finding it extremely difficult to acquire a large sum of money for fees and living.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  • You may have to think of getting part time work then?
  • Colin 4 posts all directing people to the same site. Any connection here??
  • I don't know who 'jonesMUFCforever' is but I suggest nobody pay too much attention to this self righteous, negative nonsense.

Using your parent as a guarantor is obviously possible. It's very much a last option, nobody wants to be put in that position and there is a clear element of risk involved, if you are 100% sure you can fulfill the commitment then this is something you can consider.
