Hi, almost ready to go ahead, just wanted to ask about booking a court date in advance. Do they give you a time to go and can it be an afternoon appointment as i have just started a new job and dont know if i can get a full day off so soon? Do you just ring them up and is there a particular department that you ask for? pathetic questions i know but my head is a shed at the moment!!! Just in process of doing our SOA and the figures going down on the paper for what we owe is SCARY! feel embaressed that we owe so much, but up until the credit crunch hit and we had to close our business hadn't missed a single payment on anything. This site is such a comfort cant tell you how much it is helping us to know we are not alone. Thanks again to anyone who takes the time to answer my random questions.

Hi RubyRuby,
I rang my court and asked to be put through to the bankruptcy department - once transferred the guy offered me a choice of dates for the form/fees and then booked the judge for the day after. He didn't give me a choice of times for the judge, but I could choose the time of my first appointment for giving the forms in, paying the fees, swearing oath etc.
Hope this helps

Hi rubyruby and welcome to the board,
You need to find the number for your local County Court and make sure it deals with BRs. Then you need to ask if it is an appointment system or a walk in service. They all work differently. Then, if it is an appointment system, ask them what time they offer appointments? Mine does 2 BRs a day and always at 10 am for instance.
Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask...

Hi, thanks for those replies, just to clarify will the fees and forms be done on a different day to the judge? will i need to take 2 days off work? yikes! dont know if my new boss will wear that as i dont particularly want to discuss my reasons for time off with them. thank for all your advice though:o0

It depends how your local court works. Give them a call and see what they say.BR 08/04/09 | ED 02/10/09

Only a couple of people have had occasions where they have gone along with money and forms and been asked to go back either the next day or after the weekend to pick them up (they are obviously left for the judge to look at at their leisure). I think (can't be sure) that they were both walk in - they didn't have appointment times.
Find out what system your court runs with, then we can advise you further.
Don't worry.....
