I've just rung Sainsburys and there are some in Dewsbury, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Grimsby and Poole off the top of my memory but thats about it.
The gentleman confirmed the price as £40.

As soon as I read this I jumped up and sent the other half!

I didn't realise these were still being sold.

I was heartbroken when my PS2 broke mid pregnancy. The dreaded laser disc read error. Opened it all up to no avail.

Was very bored during maternity leave with no PS2!
(Before anyone jumps to conclusions, I ain't no gymslip mum; I'm 28!)

I didn't want to buy a PS3 because of the price and (apparently) no backward compatilbility with PS2 games.

So thank you so much for the tip!

He is coming back with one from the Dewsbury store as we speak.

I'm more than happy to help a lady in need :rotfl:

From what I've read the 20 and 40 gig are backward compatible but not the new 80 gig.

i thought it was the old 60gb ps3 that was the only version backward compatible, which has been discontinued for quite a while now, Dave

I just picked up a slimline PS2 with 15 games and 2 memory cards for £47.00 inc £10.00 p&p from ebay.
I searched one of those website for misspelt items so there was hardly any bids on it. Bargain!
