But don't try and convince others against a mountain of real, not anecdotal evidence, that prices have stopped falling, and then get arsey when people try to explain that essential parts of our economy - which are related to house prices - are getting worse everyday!
We are just at the beginning of what is going to be a very bad global recession, with the added twist the credit crunch. Historically events like these do not recover in 12months, and will unfortunately affect everyone of us for a generation. To deny this, and say houses in the UK are isolated from a complete crash like we have seen on the stock market is pure ignorance. But as the old saying goes - a fool and his money are easily parted.
Im not trying to convince anyone anything im just stating the facts round by me at the moment like someone said the houses have not sold.
If people want to panic and go and buy thats up to them not me, and im not telling people to go out and buy.
I dont need too they seem to be doing it themselves by me, maybe its different where you are living
we all know we are in a resession but some people will survive and are managing quite well some others arent, thats irellevent, if you are in a secure job have a decent deposit why not buy now???I am not a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as not being a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I dont know what all the argument is about. The OP merely put forward the fact that a number of houses were SSTC over a week. We are finding the same in this area. Whether those sales go through, who knows but the fact is there does seem to be increased activity.0

I think all the arguments are coming from people who are not in a position to buy now, and see the threat of some first time buyers coming back threatening their plans.
the houses i stated earlier might fall through has they are only sstc, we will have to wait and see, dont panic i think there will still be first time properties next year, they are not all going to disapear because 6 have had offers on them.:D
Im looking to sell my house and has soon has i do i will be buying, im just glad some first time buyers have come back.
I mean no matter what people say to me, has soon has our house is sold we will be getting a extra mortgage and buying another house, buts thats my choice.;)I am not a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as not being a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Our local (and honest) estate agent who has told me things were dreadful for the last 6 months or so - I saw him as I parked my car in the town this week and he rushed by, chatting on his mobile and I mouthed "hows things" and got a thumbs up and a wodge of paperwork waved at me, so I assume things have improved for him too.0

There are always going to be a certain amount of people buying and selling houses, but don't count on the fact that just because a house has gone to SSTC, it will go through all the way. A house isn't sold until the contract is signed, have seen lots of FTB type properties go from SSTC back to available in the last few months.
I think this is because a lot of FTB's don't check that the mortgage is 100% in place before placing an offer, which causes the sale to fall through when they get declined etc.0
