I gave you all the area at the begining told you the biggest drops where 7%, and also stated that these 6 properties had gone sstc status within 3 weeks from the middle of january.

If you can show me houses that have fell 20% in the area i will be surprised, but thats not what this post is about its about first time buyers coming back.

It will make a difference, but not to the 6 first time buyers who have made offers on these properties.

No, it is just that some people looking at things in a wider context of what is going on (in the property market, the UK economy and the global economy).

It is great that you are seeing some "optimistic indicators", but it is an isolated observation in a small village: so it could be for a number of reasons. It WOULD be great if this is the start of a wider trend, but "very cautious optimism" would be a good way to go :)

Yes, there may well be some bitter and jealous people around, but there are also some "over optimistic" people around. Just because people don't agree with you, doesn't make them bitter or jealous ;)

If its not jealousy what is it?? these people make loads of post's about house prices crashing and no one buying, and has soon as there is a sign on people coming back and buying they make post's trying to dismiss the hard facts.

They are soon posting links to things abiut the market crashing, what else could it be other than they are jealous of people who are in a position to buy or they are just bitter.

I can't see how they can in any great number due to the huge deposits needed, it takes time to save them and can't be done overnight.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the OP, but what do you think young, reasonably well off people who have been living with parents or renting with friends have been doing for the past 10 years as house prices have soared?

I'm in my late twenties and nearly all the friends of mine that haven't bought for one reason or another sitting on big pots of cash at the moment.

How do you know they are FTB? it could have been a BTL

And all you have shown is that people are putting offers in.....which has never not been disputed

I went to a new build estate today and a BTL had bought 15 of the 25 houses that are currently "released".....doesn't mean FTB's are back

    Oh and I'm a FTBuyer

It doesn't need everyone to lose their jobs or have their house repo'd to make house prices fall

I'm not that smart but even I can figure out if a certain amount of houses get repo'd or enough people lose their jobs which makes buisnesses fail then the banks can't lend money out because they are not getting enough in

Think we are a way off the banks stopping to lend money, something that puzzles me i've just had limit increases on 3 credit cards i have.

i started a post the other day about blt's and savers buying property, and i was dismissed has being a troll, however if first time buyer properties are having offers on them people want them, i know if i was a first time buyer and i seen the house i was interested in all of a sudden getting a lot of attention, i would be thinking whats going on here??

Im not going to miss out again, you say about new builds, just imagine the discount the landlords woud have got from buying new builds, if i had some spare cash i would offer bottom price for a few new houses.

you saying about buy to let landlords buying houses, are they stupid??? or can they see, they are picking up bargains?? 15 to 25 houses you say thats a real good sign.
