Can be a very silly question, but what is masthead? Is it the first page? Thanks.Mark Hughes' blue and white army0

I always thought it was just the top strip that says The Times- but according to wikipedia:
Masthead is a list, usually found on the editorial page of a newspaper or magazine, of the members of the newspaper's editorial board. If no editorial board exists, the masthead will often feature a list of top news staff members. Some mastheads also include information such as the publication's founding date, slogan, logo and contact information.
So I learnt something new today!0 -

Thanks for asking johnk, I now don't have to admit that I was stumped by that too!
I guess it's the banner across the top of the front page that says 'The Times' ?
We crossposted meanmum but I wonder how many people send the wrong bit?Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
Meanmum....
I just looked up 'masthead' and you are partly correct with you definition. I have copied and pasted this from answers.com:
Masthead- Nautical. The top of a mast.
- The listing in a newspaper or periodical of information about its staff, operation, and circulation.
- The title of a newspaper or periodical as it appears across the first page, front cover, or title page of each issue. Also called nameplate.

Masthead is the top bit of the front page that says 'The Times' and that includes the date.
I had another offer like this from the Times a few months ago and sent them that bit and I receive my vouchers without any problem. The only thing they need is a proof that you did buy their paper on specific days (which is confirmed by the date).0 -
I might just get the times for the pizza i love pizza express the one by us is gorgeous !!!
