It's a bit of a random suggestion, but the ADSA mobile PAYG sim cards are very good value for money, but hard to get hold of if you don't have a local ASDA. It's certainly the best bargain I picked up when I last visited ASDA.

Calls to any UK network are 8p a minute and texts are 4p.
