I have 1 default (mobile phone) 1 yr old, banked with HSBC over 5yrs and have both a loan/ CC with them always paid on time.

Whats my chance of getting the morgage as i don't want to use a Sub prime lender if at all possible.

Mant thanks in advance

I did guess you would be anxious hence the reason it is better hearing it from the "horse's mouth".......nobody can tell other than HSBC, some people may post "no problem" others "no chance", I'm sure you'd like to hear "no problem" but that would be unfair if at a later date u rcvd a reply which disappointed you......."what will be will be" If you had been using an adviser they would have had plan B in place, just in case..........

skintbuilder; You have hijacked this thread.....in answer to yr question, you will have to consult an adviser as it will be a specialist lender (if they can be found)

I just spoke with HSBC the underwriters are close for the weekend however, i have been told that each application is done on merit and they sometime lends when the person has a default depending on the circumstances ie amount/time etc

    Is this correct?

why are you not believing what HSBC are telling you, nobody is more qualified to give you an answer than them!!!........you're looking for someone on here to tell you no problem and nobody can .........as it is not their money they are lending you! Go off and enjoy yr weekend and wait, just like everybody else has to for to receive a reply............
