I've had 2 suitcases now (one for a gift) from them. Really speedy and free delivery. Happily recommend

If you want a hard sided I bought a Carlton Eclipse which was the lightest weight I could find and am really pleased with it

From long haul flights in the past, we have some quite strong and large oyster cases.
Now that our travel seems to be restricted to ryanair cheapies, we each have an excellent little case with zip pockets for our paperwork and sandwich on the front and a handy pull out handle on the back and wheels. There ara variety of sizes in our local In Store and the small one which is allowed free onboard with Ryanair is only about £8.

Just watch the weight of cases, quite alot are around 5kg, even the extra light are around 4.3kg. Bear in mind that airlines allow 20kg, some are as little as 15kg.

I bought a bag on wheels from tesco for £15 it weighs 2.7kg and is sturdy, and means I can take another pair of shoes with me on holiday!
    Waddle you do eh?

Try tkmaxx. I got a real bargain terrida case @ £35. I looked it up when I got home on the internet and they seem to be high end luggage retailing @ $1000! It is a bit heavy @ 5-6 kg though.

I got a rose superlite tripp one last summer and the handle stitching fell apart on the first trip (transatlantic). It wasn't too bad so I took it on a trip to London and the other handle then started to fall apart. Also there was really heavy rain and I had to walk from the tube to my hotel and my clothes in the case got wet so they aren't very waterproof.

carefull with the Tripp cases- I had one smashed by an airline after less than a years use and they wouldn't replace it- as I had used it too much  or so they said.

However, the airline replaced it in the end :D

Our local Clarkes baggage centre had some lovely looking cases and so did Primark- if you don't mind really girly colours- which these hard cases were.

I think Clarkes had their large one for £40 and the Primark larger pink and light purple spots was £25- though they were in the sale, I know they sell luggage all year round.

  • If you're anywhere near Cheshire Oaks, they have a tripp shop there - that's where I got my case from. All similar to the ones in Debenhams, and mine was quite a lot cheaper, although can't remember how much sorry...

We have a Tripp suitcase that cost around £50 from Debenhams. It is a lovely case, but on the second trip one of the four wheels locked up on arrival at Vancouver airport and, in the course of walking the streets in search of a hotel, was ruined. We have contacted Tripp to see if we could pay to have this repaired but, unfortunately, they were most unhelpful and just didn't want to know!

Apart from the wheel, the case is still in excellent condition and it is extremely wasteful to thow it away. Does anyone have any idea where we may be able to have it repaired please? Thanks for any suggestions.

saw some cases today in Morrisons - hard but lightweight case with 4 wheels - can't remember the price but they seemed very good value. I think they were Revelation brand and came in silver only.
