Are there any NVQ assessors or any managers in the NHS who can answer this?

I am currently an HCA in the NHS and I am going to be doing my NVQ level 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care (Or Care on it's own but I believe it's indifferent)-anyone who knows me on the forum will know this is a complete career change for me and I am completely new to this world!!
I have 3 units credits at Part One Intermediate level in Health and Social Care gained in 2003 in
1) Health, Social Care and Early Years Provision
2) Promoting Health & Wellbeing
3) Understanding Personal Development
I attained Distinction Grade in all 3 units.
Does this mean anything in terms of my NVQ and does this tie in, in any way. I have started on the bottom of the payscale as an HCA (which I can understand because I don't have any practical experience but I don't know if the Knowledge and Skills Framework would take into account this documented qualification and whether this could have any impact on my pay before I complete my NVQ)
I am just unsure if this qualification I have has any bearing. I am thinking of sitting down with our training co-ordinator and asking about this but I don't want to make a fool of myself by presenting certificates where they may not mean anything.
Any help of guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance guys!

I'm not an Assessor in the NHS but have done other NVQ assessing.
If you want to use your prior learning in your NVQ then it would be helpful if you could provide the assessor with the syllabus for any qualification you want considering and match that against the knowledge and understanding parts of the NVQ unit(s).0 -
I can't answer your question at the level you need but Intermediate level is equivalent to level 2. Although you can be accredited for prior learning, sometimes proving this can be more trouble than doing the work from scratch!0

Thanks for your replies guys-I really appreciate it, at least I have a place to start so I am grateful.
I have the original certification from the exam board with the seal of authenticity on it and details of the module attained and the grade through Edexcel-hopefully the NHS will use their syllabus!Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!

To achieve a band 3 outcome for an HCA, you will have to evidence level three NVQ.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
