Quirky Ideas & Video Booths

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows of any companies in north yorks/north east that provide video booth hire? We have found a few people that do the rental plus edited dvd for about 350 but they are all too far away!

Also, does anyone have any quirky ideas for wedding reception entertainment? You know..the things that people talk about after, open to any suggestions!

How about having a magician to provide wedding day entertainment. He (for some reason they are usually chaps and I don't know why that is:rolleyes: ) will be able to entertain the guests whilst they are waiting for photos and during the meal, especially useful if they have a disaster in the kitchen which means a slight delay in bringing the food out.

Lovely thanks Horace, kind of thinking along the lines of sky lanterns, things like that really, maybe something a bit more intimate?

Also has anyone used a video booth type thing before?

Hi a company called Mr & Mrs Video do a video booth in the N.E. its not on their web site but if u e-mail them they will give u details. Chinese laterns are great but be wary or some of the companies who offer a display -a friend paid in full prior to wedding and the guy came to release them but said the wind was over 5mile per hour so couldn't do the display thay were charged full price and left with 100 unused laterns. If you want to DIY play.com has a good deal on at the moment.

Were hopefully having Croupiers at our reception! Roulette table and such! Havent priced it yet though!

Keep the men entertained, i used to work in a hotel and some things i saw were ice sculptures, fireworks, caricuture artist, magician, live music, choc fountains, champagne foutains

You could have a themed dance class - maybe swing or salsa - and then a band playing that music afterwards.

lolly - we went to a wedding fair today & picked up a leaflet on having a roulette/blackjack table at your event/wedding - they start at £200 for one table - they operate throughout Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire & the North East, but may travel to other areas - not sure about Wales, but might be worth a look? www.casinoknights.co.uk

As for other quirky ideas, we're thinking of having a prom style photo entrance, so each couple/family coming in has a photo taken.
We're thinking of a cheese wedding cake & we're making our own felt flowers!

We are going to have 'virtual horse racing' at our reception - the winner of the previous race has got to commentate on the next race only thing is I dont know how you would get it - it is included in our reception venue
