how to clean red brick wall?

i removed plants (ivy and other) which was covering the out side wall of the house for years and now the red brick is exposed it looks dirty, greenish. i tried water and brush to no avail...is there any special material for this purpose...thanks

    How about a jet washer, or maybe some patio cleaner and a good stiff brush

  • I've heard Jeyes Fluid is meant to be good at those types of jobs.

    I also try a jet washer first. I removed a ivy I had at te back that clings onto the bricks.

    pressure washer but be careful not to damage the pointing just go easy on it!! good luck!

    i have a similar problem except its bricks in the fireplace covered in soot. obviously cant use a power hose. any suggestions
