    8) Can I pay by debit card at PayPoint?
You can only make TV Licence payments by debit card at PayPoint. All other payments are cash only.

.... so no fee, but only debit card for TV licence? So it looks as though your local supplier is within their rights to make a charge for facilitating the DC transaction via their own till?
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
  • I make my payments for my tv licence by cash and I don't pay a fee.

  • Some shops regularly do charge for using a debit card, for anything. It has nothing to do with PayPoint - the shop isn't charging you for using PP, they're charging for you using your card.

There are, in any event, cheaper ways to pay most bills than in cash with PayPoint/Bank Giro Credits.

    Or pay by direct debit
  • Paypoint gives the shop 10p for that transaction regardless of the amount. By using your debit card the shop will incur a fee of between 20p and £1.00 depending on their processor. If you pay your bills by card the shop is actually making a loss!
