wedding present

I need to pick your brains.......
I have been invited to a wedding party at the end of July and I would like to make something for the couple. THe thing is I will have the travel 250 miles to the party and they live in taiwan.
So the restrictions are
- can't be heavy or bulky
- I would like it to be a keepsake
- I;m not sure of their 'style' as they live so far away and he is english and she is chinese.
- I would like to give them something different and unusual.
- It needs to be fairly straight forward but I don;t mind putting in the time.

I am okay at using the sewing machine but not so great on fancy stuff.
Handsewing is out the window ( you should see me sewing a straight line:eek: ).

I though of maybe getting a nice photo album and covering it in a nice quilted patchwork cover.

Any other suggestions gratefully received!

If you are good at patchwork why not make a patchwork quilt? They cost a fortune to buy, and the recipient would surely appreciate the work you've put into it.

(I would love one of these myself!) hehe.

  • How about a Scrapbook, maybe a 12 x12 size, you can buy some really nice Wedding Kits
You can slide the papers in and a few embelishments then the bride can add her own photographs

    cheers
