Hello All,
I been inspired by this site have started my MF journey with an Overpayment which equates to my normal monthly payment for February. I have audited my finances over the last month, making some great savings, and am confident that I now have the best deal possible for what I need to pay for monthly/annually. I have seen great improvements in our spend on food and feel that this is one area that I can drive down further - whilst maintaining good quality food.
So, I feel that I am nearing the best position I can be in. What next? Sit and wait each month? I feel that I should be more proactive!
Any thoughts appreciated

Souns like you're well organised for your mission!
Having identified the savings in your outgoings, the other main things would be to maximise your income and ensure you've prioritised your spending (e.g. in my case, I've sacrificed expensive holidays and a new car in the short-term so I can concentrate on overpaying the mortgage).Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -
One thing that can be done is to have a list of things you may need/want over the next couple of years and keep an eye out for them either on sale or misspriced or someone is throwing out via freecycle.
It can be very cost effective to bring forward purchases you were going to make anyway. Especialy food misprices.
This does mean monitoring a few sites
As well as the boards here I also like
www.hotukdeals.com
Our latest has been the £10 hotel room offers for the odd weekend away, we would have done them anyway but the deal just changes when.0
