I Wanna Sofa Throw

Hi all

just wondered if anyone had seen any reasonably priced (and decent quality) sofa throws knocking about?

My sofas are cheapo 2-for-1 sofas from Argos as its all we could afford when we first got a house..... 5 years down the line, they are covered in pulls from cat claws, tide marks from a badly-needed damp proof course and now they are completely and utterly ruined with tons of huge stains from copious amounts of baby sick (my 4 month old son has terrible reflux and no matter how much you cover everything with towels etc, he still somehow manages to soak everywhere with his huge excorcist style sicks!)

We aren't in a great sitution for spending loads on new sofas, that would inevitively become ruined again by cats/baby/rising damp, so have decided just to cover them instead til we move house, whenever that may be!

However, looking round i can't find any sofa throws that aren't A) extortionately priced or B) naff or C) too small! I've been having a gander on Ebay and theres tons, however, even from the pictures, its clear they're cheap for a reason.. and still for 2 throws with delivery its over £40! (not to mention i HATE Ebay at the moment!) so i'm not keen on spending that much when theres a good chance they'll turn out to be a bit pants!

Anyway, waffling aside, has anyone seen any nice throws knocking about anywhere? I've looked online at a few places (Argos etc) but again, they look naff. I'm aware my expections are a bit high, but i'm a bit desperate as i'm on SMP and can't exactly afford to spend tons on something that isnt strictly neccessary, but something thats highly embarrassing when people come round for a brew, and i see the awkward/horrified "what the hell are those stains, i'm not sitting there"! look on their faces!

Thanks in advance if you can help!

  • Maybe try TK Maxx, I bought one there a few years ago which was huge (3 seater size) it was only about £15 but unbeknown to me at the time, was worth nearer £150!
