Alternative phone number for Jobcentre Plus?
sophisticated.
I've found a few jobs I'm interested in applying for on the job centre website but the number to call is 0845, which will cost me a fortune to ring off my mobile. I know you can go to the job centre and use the phones for free, but the centre is far away from my flat.
Does anyone know of an alternative phone number I can use to call them? I did a search on saynoto0870.com but it came up with lots of regional numbers.
Thanks

When you ring tell them you are calling from a mobile and they should ring you straight back, if not call your local office. There is no alternative number.0

Just wanted to point out for anyone else with this problem that I rang the 0845 number today and asked them to call me back, and they said they weren't allowed to do this

I live in university halls of residence, I have a phone in my room but I can't top it up (tried every way possible!)0

Its really crap that they only provide an 0845 number and when you ring them they give you a recorded load of naff and then keep you on hold in a queue for at least 10 mins before they answer it.
they should change the number to an 0300 so that people can call either from home or their mobile and use their inclusive minutes0 -

Hate to put a dampener on your find but everyone who is signing at a jobcentre will have the office number, down side is if people ring asking for details of a job we will only be able to say ring jobseeker direct!!!!
The offices aren't staffed to help with these sorts of queries, unless you are allocated to say a new deal adviser we have to get people of the phones asap so re direct all calls to jobseeker direct or benefit enquiries.
and no i don't agree with it!!0 -
