Northern Rock...driving me mad

Im new to this forum, but I wondered if anybody else has had the same kind of problems with Northern Rock. I had a Together mortgage with my ex partner, and when we split up, they stopped paying their half. I was on a low income and could only affrod to pay my half of the mortgage payment. I visited the CAB who advised that I stop paying this, as I was going to go into arrears anyway and I might as well save my money. Anyway, I moved out of the jointly ownde home and into a flat, and I called NR to advise them of my address and circumstance change (my surname changed also). They said I would need to put it into writing...which I did, sending along a certified copy of my Deed Poll. However NR didnt receive, so I resent. Again they denied receiving anything from me. Luckily my post was being redirected for a few months, so I received the letter saying I had to go to court as they were starting repossession proceedings. However when my redirection ran out, I stopped getting any comms from NR altogether. I then moved house, and again called them with my new address- we went through the process again, I sent them written notice, and they never received it. So basically they were not keeping me updated with what they were doing. Next thing I know, a CCJ has appeared on my credit report (I then ultimately lost my job offer with the Police). I rang NR again, who said that maybe I should try faxing my change of details...so this I did.
I have spoken to them today and guess what?...they never received the fax!!! They then turned round and told me that they have no record of me ever calling them since I started to go into arrears (!!!!!) and that they had kept me fully updated with their actions by post (sent...you guessed it....to the original address!) They said that they offered me a payment arrangement, but because I never responded, they gave me the CCJ. Is this right?? Is there anything I can do? I have rung them countless times, Ive shouted, Ive cried...they must have a record of these calls surely?
I feel like Im being taken for a mug, my health is now suffering with the stress of not knowing whats going to happen next, I have taken advice from the CLA who were great, and it seems BR is my only option. That I will think about.
Has anybody else had any probs like this with NR? Has anyone got any advice as to what to do regarding their practices? Any help would be appreciated.

    Then send another registered post, preferably with the old date on and indicating it is a copy, as per my previous dated and fax dated.

    The pm 10past6 and ask for help.

  • Can you get a copy of an itemised phone bill that shows the calls to them? This would help prove you have been in contact with them.
    :D:rolleyes:;):cool::o:rolleyes:;):o:o:cool:
  • yes I was thinking this, Im gonna ring BT and see if I can get an itemised bill done. Then Im going to send that, along with copies of the letters Ive already sent by registered post- lets see them deny receiving that!
