Which loan?
Hi all,
I'm after a bit of advice. We are moving soon and need to get some money together for the rent deposit and fees etc.....
I'm having trouble finding somewhere who will take 'household income'. I work part-time as i have a child with autism (i do get DLA for him, and carers for me). My partner is full-time and in good employment, but, he had to declare himself bankrupt a couple of years ago following a car accident and two years off work......
Basically - we have the funds to pay back a loan, but as it can only be in my name - i think i may be turned down as i don't have the income...
Any advice??

If you have the funds to pay back the loan, why not forget the loan and simply use the funds to cover the moving costs etc. The costs won't be that large and you'd be free from the shackles of a loan.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
smileymab,
It does sound like you may have some problems given your non-standard circumstances.
I'm not sure how much you want to borrow, but it may be worth going to talk to your local credit union who may take all your circumstances into consideration.
Will social services not help out with rent deposit too?
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

How much are you looking for?
Some banks will accept DLA as income as it is guaranteed ie not means tested. If you are looking for a small amount ie under say£1k then perhaps your bank could arange an overdraft for you to cover the costs?0
