SVR - Bank of Scotland

Options
The BBC website states that HBOS has passed on the full .5 interest rate cut to their standard variable rate mortgages, but the Bank of Scotland element of HBOS has confirmed via phone this morning that it is still under review.

I am confused as Halifax has passed the full rate on, but the bank of scotland hasn't, yet the press state that HBOS has ??

This happened with the Jan rate cut, and Bank of scotland didn't pass the cut on following a long period of review.

I feel there is selective reporting of the facts here, which mean Bank of Scotland customers are losing out, but the press don't pick up on this as HBOS are reported to be passing the cut on!

Any advise or information will be most welcome?

Thanks

The BBC always say 'Halifax' as far as I know - I tend to get mixed up and think I have an HBoS mortgage when really I have a Halifax mortgage and didn't even realise til recently that BoS mortgages still existed. There must be very few BoS customers left which is probably why the press don't pick up on it.

There are many BoS Mortgages, however they can only be obtained thru intermediaries, if you go to a Bank of Scotland branch you will be offered a Halifax mortgage..........

There can't be that many surely? In comparison to Halifax's?
  • Thanks guys, I still feel it is misleading that the bbc state HBOS not Halifax in the body of their text, but then Halifax in the table!

What do you mean surely!!....Why are you challenging this.......because you want to be right as usual!!

Why do they have a full compliment of business development managers thru out the UK and also processing units......

This isn't really at all relevant feisty so I'll leave you to it.

RobNic80, it is misleading, and I do find it confusing. You should email the bbc to point out there is no HBoS SVR, only a Halifax SVR. Think it is down to ignorance more than anything else as they perhaps don't realise that BoS has a separate SVR.
