8in1 Remote Control £3 Superdrug

Noticed today in Superdrug they had a lot of 8in1 universal remote controls in their clearance sale reduced from £15 to £3.

They are similar to the one Lidl were selling sometime ago but these don't have an LCD screen.

I bought the Lidl one at the time & find it really eats through battereis quickly (2 aaa batteries last about 1 week!) so I bought a Superdrug one which will hopefully last a bit longer as it doesn't have a screen always on to drain the power.

I noted the cheap poundland ones churn through batteries at an alarming rate. Perhaps a set will last 3 months, compared with a good couple of years for a normal remote.

sounds faulty, I bought mine from there and the same batteries are still working - gets used daily!

    cant fault the remote itself.

Does yours work ok? Bought one a couple of weeks ago but couldnt get it to work at all. Had to take it back for a refund, but I noticed afterwards on the back of the packaging it said NSTC.

What are you using the £1 models on ?

The one i bought only works my Toshiba TV ( and not very well).
    It does NOT work:
    Pace ( ex on-digital box)
    Goodmans freeview box
    Beko TV
    Venturer DVD
    Minato DVD
    Thorn VCR
    Aiwa mini system

Is the Superdrug model a " Learning remote" ? If it is i will look out for one. The pre-programmed ones are a waste of money ( they seldom work all your equipment and on the ones they do they miss out essential functions)

Unless you buy a oneforall one in which case you can email the customer services and they come back with reprogramming instructions for the functions you want - but then again they cost 20 quid plus in the first place...
    I think....
