Obtaining a mortgage with some credit / identity issues

Student loan does not even show on Equifax.

The killer for mortgage purposes seems to be a default from last year.

Does not make a lot of sense though, it shows no payment history, just one fat D last year, this is on a loan.......apparently!

Well it shows in her name at an address she has not lived at for 8 years or so.

The bank in question have been contacted...as she did not take any loan or default and they can't find any record on this.

Anyone got any advice, the report shows an account number similar to the one on a debit card, the long 16 digit one, however it only shows the last 4 digits.

The bank say they can check more with full account details but this is not possible as she does not have them!

Guess the bank are responsible for sending this false data to the credit report folks?

Have you lodged an online dispute using the Equifax process. I used it to correct some inaccuracies and it was resolved painlessly in a couple of weeks.

Yes she done this but Equifax seemed to be shouting about the account number, they said they needed it and to contact the bank, the bank said contact Equifax and get it from them, Equifax said they cant see the whole number.

Just a farce really.
