Tax Credits overpayment and BR

Hi everbody,

A bit of a specific question, but i have just contacted the tax credits ppl, and it appears that since sept last year until now, we have been paid a childcare allowance, now they gonna want that back, but i was BR on 23rd jan, this year, can this amount be written off or will they still insist in taking it off me via future payments?

BTW stand by for my super long post on Tuesday after my OR interview!!

  • I put my TC overpayment into my bankruptcy and then made a new claim. Not been processed yet as it's gone to 'compliance'. I couldn't say if thats because of what I did with the overpayment or because I'm self employed.................... even so, be prepared for problems. HTH
  • ohhhh, think i may just swallow it and let em reclaim it!! its not a fortune, saves em messing my money up! thanks
