post office to cut 16,000 jobs?

Our address is domestic, but in our rural location lots of the addresses are businesses (farms/b and bs, cottage industries, the self employed). Our post arrives in the late afternoon. I have asked working neighbours if this causes them any problems and noone has ever replied it does. Urgent things, they say, are done via phone/email/fax.
I'm sure with some things it must make it awkward, but are those things a regular occurance?
FWIW our postie is great, he doesn't mind our big, sometimes enthusiastic dogs and is also happy to collect post from us. We miss him if he's on holiday.0 -
