Tomorrow will be our 1 month mark. a full month of being BR.
I spoke to a good friend earlier and let her know I was on the site for the london gazette. She said 'your in the local tonight luv'
my name, address, previous address, and occupation.
OH not in this week even though we went BR same day.
I feel a bit naff. I knew it was going to be in, but hoped it had been in already! knowing it is in tonight... the thought of going to work tomorrow, for sure I wont be putting my full name on the letters I send out from work (I send out about 100 a day!) It will be over the next week Ill be asked I guess if anyone i know did see it. Just thinking hey its a weekly paper and someone else will be there next week (probably my OH)
I guess I know im being stupid feeling this way, I mean who reads that section anyway.. thats daft my mate did!
Stupid thing is I could have probably stopped it If i had asked my or. I had a valid reason to. It was the OR who put it in the paper. I dont owe anyone round here anything.. why bother! Be aware guys, the week following your interview or even the same week it should be in your local

Don't be so down on yourself hun. It's not that easy to stop having your name in the paper. You would have to have applied to the judge on the day of your BR, the OR cannot decide whether or not to put it in.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I meant to say I could have asked the judge, although it was the OR who put it in, 9 others too apparantly so its not like im the only one.
I know if I can get by the next two weeks I will be ok..0 -

It'll be fine honest, if anybody does notice, will they really be bothered? Most people are worrying about themselves. Nobody has been horrid to me at a personal level, and only my sister who was looking out for me in the paper and is really supportive, found it there.
I became br in June last year and thought all sorts of nasty things would happen, people talking about me, but my friends and family are solicitous, and others haven't bothered me, even if they do know. (And I even do some work for the local paper and no-one there has said a word.)Bankrupt 11th June 2008

In all honestly how many people actaully read those adds, in our local paper, the 1st bits I read are hatch, match and dispatch, then work casually through the odd story lines, but anything like cars, bankrupts etc, would have to jump out at me.
As they say todays newspaper tomorrows chip wrapper. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hi NM, try not to be too down about things, its onwards and upwards from now on.
No one mentioned anything to me about my 5 minutes of fame in the newspapers, and trust me i know some right busy bodies !
My responses to them anyway would of been very short and sharp, something along the lines of "I suggest you mind your own (beeping) business?"
You haven't done anything wrong and it doesn't affect their lives anyway.
Good luck and stay positive.0 -
I don't know who reads local papers nowadays! Most folks get the local news off the radio or TV. Don't worry. I'm sure no one will give a damn."What does not kill you makes you stronger"0

It's the local paper that frightens the majority of people in turmoil whether to go BR or not I think. If the appearance in the local paper was abolished I bet BRs would quadruple. I must admit I worry about the paper the most as I live in a small county. However, I'm not going to struggle for years for the sake of the paper.0
