SOA - How?

Please can anyone tell me if the OR actually physically check the SOA? I mean if I put down, I have no car - will they do actually take that literally and accept it or do they do a search to confirm it? Do they come to your house and see if there is any valuable things that they can take - not that I have anything valuable, all I have is normal household things. Do I include everything in the forms, just in case they come around and found that I missed something out and thought that I am trying to pull a wool over their eyes?
I am in the middle of filling my SOA and just do not know what is reasonalbe and what is not. Is pension allowed? Insurance allowed? I used my husband's car, do I need to include it in the asset section? The car is in my husband's name. I pay for petrol, maintenance, MOT, etc.
I have a 5 year old, what expenses is allowed? Clothing for her? After school clubs? I found that it is a mind field.
I am sorry that I keep asking questions, but I do not know where to turn...
Please help.

Hi Charlie,
Don't worry, you don't need to put any of your household items on the form, and no-one will come to your house to check.
If the car is in your husbands name it goes in the section 'Do you have the use of a car not belonging to you' you can then put running costs like petrol, maintenance & MOT in your outgoings.
You are allowed to pay into a pension, and you are allowed all the normal insurances.
You can include clothing for your child, 1 activity per week, and school dinners.
Hope that helps some.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Thank you, Peachyprice for the advise and information. I know I sound so 'thick' asking so many questions everyday.
I will have another go at the forms again, hopefully I will be able to complete it soon....0 -
No, you don't sound 'thick' at all, it a frightening time, and the forms are confusing when you first look at them.

I am sure you will do fine. Just ask anything you need to. The only stupid question is an unasked one.
