Ok today i got a HUGE box of fresh fruit and veg from the farm and in it i have some cooking Apples and Rhubarb .... easy pie and or crumble right??
Ok so whats the best way to do this i have quite alot of both, enough for maybe 4-5 of each type of pies/crumbles.
And despite having a dustbin for a husband i'd like to try spread it out, rather than just make his belly bigger.
Ok storage wise whats the best plan... make the pies/crumbles and freeze them?? or chop and freeze the fruits to make the desserts seperatly???

depends on your preference and freezer space - my personal preference would be to freeze the fruit and make into pies/crumble on the day i want themThe mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work unless it’s open.:o

Hi
I just cooked up a load of cooking apples ( 8 maybe) with some sugar, cooled and put in sandwich type bags in the freezer ready for crumbles and cakes. I just take them out on the morning I want them and make up the puddings when I get home from work.Smoke free since 16th December 20120 -
You can freeze sliced apples for cooking, but I would stew both of these and freeze them once cooked. That way, you've got an instant hot or cole pudding whenever you need it. Both stewed apples and stewed rhubarb can be made into pies or crumbles by adding topping, and into fools by mixing with cream, or just eaten with some pouring cream or yogurt. Personally I like both these options on my porridge in the morning!0
