Tuna pasta bake? You could through the olives in there too for a bit of a change. You won't be able to grate the usual cheese over the top but that's not the end of the world......maybe add a spoon of vegemite to add depth of flavour? Be cautious with seasoning through as you don't want to make it too salty.

Put some dried brown rice in a saucepan and cook according to the packet instructions.

Meanwhile, fry the onion and when soft add half a tin of tomatoes, the tuna and the tin of curried beans and heat thoroughly. If you have any dried mixed herbs (maybe not 'cos you didn't mention it!) add 1/2 a teaspoon or so of these and heat the mixture through.

Once the rice is cooked pour the tuna mixture on top and voila!

    Alternatively

Put some soya mince in a saucepan with water (not sure of exact quantities - check on packet). Fry the onion and when soft add to the soya mince along with the tinned tomatoes and a teaspoon or so of vegemite. Serve with some of the pasta.

  • want to use the tuna and onion and creme fraiche as theyre all in the fridge.. was thinking pizza or pasta what would be an easy way of using up the creme fraiche too? other wise it'll probs go to waste.
  • appreciate the replies above which i've saved for later but what i'm doing is...... one ready mix pizza base and 100g congiglie pasta... onion sliced and fried then added tin tomatoes, binned puree as its well over 3 weeks, reducing the tomatoes to a thick sauce then spread on pizza with half tuna and put in oven. rest of sauce mix with creme fraiche and tuna and use as pasta sauce. hope it turns out ok!
  • and do you have a basic recipe.. i have:

mushrooms (closed cup) half a tub
    bunch of spring onions
    mature cheddar
    onions, garlic
    rice, pasta, bread
    creme fraiche
    mango chutney
various other things but no potatoes/tomatoes left
  • I'd go for cheesey mushroom pasta!

Put the pasta on to boil. Fry onion add garlic after a bit, then the mushrooms. let the creme fraiche down with a bit of water, add it to the mushroom pan, warm through, add pasta then some grated cheese and a couple of chopped spring onions for a bit of freshness and greeness.

    Mushroom risotto

Fry the mushrooms, garli, finely chopped onion in butter / olive oil. Add the rice to the pan and fry it for a few minutes, then add some stock and stir. if you've got risotto rice add the stock gradually and keep stirring. If not, you can add all the stock at once and let it simmer gently. Takes about 20 mins. Add some grated cheese and a spoonful of creme fraiche at the end and some fresh parsley if you've got it.
