Address Change Mystery

I phoned the Halifax BOS to cancel my payment protection insurance on my loan. I was shocked when I couldn't get past security when the address I was providing didn't match that on my account. I went in to the branch armed with all the relevant ID. I had recently got married and had changed all my details online after the wedding and received the notification through of the changes.
When I got to the branch I was told that the address on the account was in England which is very odd as I live in Scotland and have never lived in England. Hopefully the lady managed to change it to the correct address, I will be phoning again tomorrow to check.

Just wondering if anyone else have experienced this problem, should I be concerned or put it down to a admin error at the bank and not worry about it.

  • Thats a bit odd.
Dont assume its an error, check your statements.
Send a recorded delivery letter to the bank with your concerns on it and request a reply, to clarify any issues, i would send a copy by e-mail too.

It may seem over cautious but these thing have a habit of coming back to bite you in the bum!
    That mrs macchicken to you!
