Online custom wedding lists??

Hi,
This q may have been asked before but I've searched the forums and can't find it.... We'd like to create our own online wedding list, not specific to any shop, just ideas for presents. The idea would be we put on a list of things we'd like (some specific, and some just general ideas) and then people just decide which one they want to get and reserve it and it comes off the list - so we won't end up with the legendary 6 toasters and 4 kettles!

Does anyone know of any websites or software that would allow you to do this? (ideally free.)

Thanks for any suggestions...

Cheers,
S & A

Just been searching a bit more on google and some up with one site, http://www.ourweddinglist.com. Not free but £10 for registration is fine if it's a good site - has anyone used this one?

I've just checked out the demo on this and it allows you to link to an "official" wedding list with a department store, i.e. John Lewis. So you can have the benefits of a department store list plus a few extras from elsewhere on it. It's great because John Lewis don't run the line of sewing machine that i want.

***EXACTLY*** what we were looking for, this site is brilliant. Minimum effort and great results, love the way it picks up the photos & logos automatically. Thanks v. much from both of us.
  • I have just stumbled across this thread via google. I thought I would share what I found -
https://www.weddingpressies.co.uk appears to have a lot of different stores with which it is partnered. Was easy to use but their facebook application didn't seem to work.
  • Have you try the confetti website, they do a wish list which is connect to a pre-paid card. You record item you want and your guest then pay towards the item.

I used it last year to pay for my Honeymoon as I already had all the traditional wedding gift items.

Why to revive a 2 year old thread??? I am sure that OP is now happily married and managed to sort out the wedding list!

And the person posting for the first time after 22 months of silence and a link to a website on a thread that was dead for more than 2.5 years, is a bit suspicious to me!
