you would cry. my DH is being made redundant in two months time so in an attempt to put into practice what I have learned from this board (thanks everyone) I thought I would do some bulk cooking each day making something for tea and the same for the freezer well here goes:-
Tuesday I made a large pan of chicken curry meaning to freeze half my DH and I and DS1 who still lives at home had this for tea in the meantime dad rang told him I made chicken curry he said he would love some so a portion went to him then DS2 who doesn't live with me pops in on his way home from work and says curry oh good and there went another portion ended up with perhaps enough for 2 people going in the freezer.
Wednesday:- Made 2 corned beef pies one for tea again and one for the freezer after tea there was some left over for DH box so I put the other one on the side to cool ready to freeze Mam called in took a slice with her, DH went out and helped himself to some more then DS1 had another slice so wasn't worth freezing the rest.
Today I am making 2 shepherds pies whats the odds on any making it to the freezer so tell me how do you do it!

When you dish it up, dish some straight into your freezer container of choice. Then stick in fridge or freezer immediately. Straight after dinner make sure it's labeled and in the freezer

I have been known to hide tubs of hm hobnobs in all sorts of places... in the large wok in the saucepan cupboard, in the microwave, in my baking cupboard behind the flour.

 You might have to start cooking in the middle of the night. :rotfl:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

You need to put in tubs labelled 'tripe and sprout curry';)0

I'm sure you'll find ways round your problem, moneyowen, but what a lovely thread. You've made your family very happy and we all need some of that!!0

I find that putting things in the microwave tends to work, sometimes I forget they are there as well until I smell them a few days later0
