I have now paid of the small credit card - so I just have the one with £710 which is 0% for another couple of months. I pay £25 on this each month. If hubby has more work I shall try to pay a bit more off.
I have now stopped using the credit card for the weekly shop (i used to pay it off in full each month) but I really don't want to build up any amount on that. I am going to use cash for my shopping each week. I have just had a sort out of my kitchen cupboard and found all kinds off things- so I have a list and will meal plan round what I've already got.Nutty Bird

Hi Nuttybird - No it doesn't matter that your husband is self employed. What they will want to know though is what his earning were from last april 2008 to this april 2009. In this april you will need to renew your claim and they will ask you to work out how much you think he will earn in the next financial year eg april 2009 - april 2010. They will then base what you are entitled to on that. I think someone has already posted the link https://www.entitledto.com. Put the figures in you have and it will work out what you should be getting. I think you are entitled to something and I hate to think of you struggleing when you aren't getting what you are entitled to. Take care x
:jNov 2012 - Loan £1200, CC1 £1450
CC2 £1300, CC3 £100
Next £200
I will get rid!!!!

Things are starting to look a bit better now! It seems like the builders have started building again and hubby has more work coming in now - which is great.
I am still being very careful with money. It has also made me realise that in the past we have been in the mind set of buy now and pay later, this is something that I am going to stop.
I'm going to clear that last credit card bill and then that's it. I don't want to run up any more of them!
I'm also counting down the days until the car is paid off (March 09). If (fingers crossed) hubby's work is back on track then we will have this £310 each month that we have been paying for the last 6 years (OMG!) but I would like to save this instead. Where would be the best place? I have an ISA already. Should I get my hubby to set one up or is there something better I could do with this money?
ThanksNutty Bird
