MP3 Player

Options
I have found an MP3 player for £80, it is 1.5gb and a well known make.

It is reconditioned, would you recommend buying reconditioned items? Also it comes with a 1 year warranty but can i get a guarentee or any over cover after the year has run out?

Hope you can help.

Stuart

Hiya, Im just shopping around for one of these now so can you post the link? ;)

In my experience reconditioned stuff has been just as good as totally new things. When I moved out of my parents last year I was totally penniless and had to get everything from scratch - the majority of electrical stuff i have is reconditioned and I havent yet had any problems with it. I think that you only ever get a one year gurantee with most things anyway - if you want extended you have to pay extra which usually costs as much as the item itself.

  • If its the Philips HDD060 from Planet Micro then my advice is, don't bother. I bought one and it arrived 10 days ago. The box was all beaten to hell so it wasn't going to be great as the Christmas present it was meant as, but added to that, it didn't actually work. I got it to switch on but couldn't transfer anything to it, either with the supplied software (awful, simply awful) or via drag & drop, which was supposedly supported. I tried it in different USB ports, tried the latest software from Philips site, everything but no joy.

So now i'm awaiting a reply from Planet Micro about a full refund. The player itself looks quite nice but I won't be buying ANY of the Philips HDDxxx ones, I'll stick to something more proven now.
