getting eaten by the credit crunch now...

hi all.
i just wanna vent some anger, dunno which board to do it, but im a DFW, and deep in debt, have issues with mortgage, lots of DCA's chasing me here there and everywhere. i got a part time courier job last july, which has been slowly helping with our debts. i got paid today, and am missing money to the tune of £60 quid. i emailed them, and they have just informed me that ive worked out my wages on the old rate (25 parcels a day pay) and the new rate is 15 parcels a day, so im down 50 parcels pay a week at 65p per parcel..... i was expecting this probably to happen, as ive been delivering 10-15 parcels a day and getting topped up to the 25. but they never told me, so i couldnt prepare, so im only able to pay my mortgage £70 extra towards my debt this month........ im thinking is it worth it.. i think it is... i get now £50 p/w and my diesel is £15 p/w but then thats without the service in needs next month and 4 tyres at £70 each....banging my head i think:eek:

    Sorry to hear that.

Have you ever posted a soa here. It can really help having others look over it and see if cutbacks can be made.

tbh, i know where ive got to save from now... ive gotta go back to cutting back on shopping, cutting back on going out (every 2 months about £25)and eating out too(once a month £30). i dunno where to save on my extortionate electric tho, im on a key meter and put in £140 p/m:eek: !!! theres 5 of us, i know its the tumble dryer use which puts it up (once or twice a day for an hr each time) but ive no room for an airer now, and my 21 month old just tends to empty it anyway... so tumble dryer atm is a must. roll on sunny days i guess. gas isnt so bad about 20 a week here. weve a car each, which we both need, he needs to get to work i need for the courier job. our diesel bill is £200 pm.

    council tax £87

diet club £21 (sorry i know i shouldnt but i need to lose another 5 stone and this is helping me, lost 2.5 stone already since aug:T )
    national ins £10p/m
catalogues 30 p/m (gotta kick these)
various DCA's mainly in dispute CCA'd
mortgage £600 (1000 arrears paying it £200 pm but want to continue to pay £200 p/m to reduce mortgage )
    diesel £200
    elec £140
    gas £80
school dinners £8 p/w if she has them..
clothing varies 3 growing children always seem to need sommin so maybe £50 p/m(they havent had anything since about oct, havent had the money coz of xmas )
i had road tax for 1 car this month 6months £101.
    £80-£100 p/w shopping

i dunno where our money goes after these are paid, i think ive a black hole in my bank account. i definately dont have very much money left over each month if any... it could be that the money i get is all in dribs and drabs.

Well done for posting. It is easier to see and understand if you use this sheet. https://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html.

For things like christmas/birthdays and car expenses etc add up what you spent last year and divide by 12. The same with your wages multiply by 26 then divide by 12 to give a monthly salary. Under the benefits bit I would put in the figure for April £220 you can use any extra etc to put towards clearing a debt.
Looking at what you have put down so far you have spare income to tackle the debts

-yep i always shop around for car ins, was the best price i could get without excess and fully comp.
hubs car insurance this is his car for work, he needs car as its too far on a push bike.
domgen kitchen insurance, covers my dyson, washing machine and cooker if they breakdown. ive already used it for cooker and washing machine, although if they couldnt be repaired the replacement payment couldnt buy new ones as they are all more than 6 yrs old.
yes daughter will go back to sandwiches, but she likes a hot dinner in winter, and too much hassle for her to come home, as im normally delivering parcels then. gas electric, like i say, cant see where to save unless i move out lol.. i moaned at hubby as he wouldnt warm tank up too cold washing up with freezing water... kids like a bath, and the 2 lil uns bath together.. its my tumble dryer i know, but i have 2-3 loads a days and could never dry it without atm....shopping yep i know i can get it down, have done. just where im working more now (6 days a week) i dont get alot of time to go on sites finding where i need to get this and that (was going to all 4 big boys to get all the bargains) gotta go back to this again... or simply not eat lol....

i forgot to put my tv licence in £34 p quarter. i dont tend to save for things like birthdays/xmas road tax etc... i should but im not at all with how to squirrel money. i have thought about taking a bit of cash out of bank to hide from hubby, i wished he had lol.. im hope he does, i can never keep reins on it all, even tho i check almost every day, and when i begin the month, it looks good on paper, but reality is sommin else.. am i the only one here???
i havent seen how much, as one month to the next, this comes up that comes up. if we werent saving for xmas, now we are saving for things like road tax, or mot's grrrr... cant seem to get straight anyway.. and now ive just lost £120 p/m. many of my debts are being disputed, as they want lots of money i havent got. want to go back to CCCS, but with the mortgage arrears, should i go back can i go back??? i didnt want to get ourselves in a fix where we cant afford the mortgage 1 month again, so have just either been paying my bills when i could, or just paying £1 tokens. now i gotta look for sommin else to earn money. am making novelty cakes, and trying to earn a bit out of it (havent earnt much so far) but i really want to go to college to learn how to do sugarcraft properly.

It is difficult to put something by for these things but even if you put £20 each month it would help. It means in the long run you won't have to use up a big portion of a wage to cover the expensive things.
I did a soa using the sheet for myself. It meant I could see in an ideal world whether my incomings paid for the costs of my outgoings. I then did one for the month in hand to see where I could cut back just for that month. Anything spare gets put away for things like car tax and servicing. Then when I have saved enough to cover these I started paying extra on debts.
I now do a monthly spreadsheet that shows the dates that everything gets paid in and when I things get taken out of account. It means I can juggle everything. Of course little things crop up but I can see where I can reduce spending to accomodate these things. Infact very sad I know but my banking spreadsheet is now done until 2013!!! based on 2009 figures but I can roughly see when I will be able to pay everything off.
As you can see from my signature I have been able to pay 2 debts off by juggling money in the last couple of months. And my aim is to only have my mortgage left by the end of the year.

Please please do a proper soa you are missing so much off yours.
Also check if your appliances are covered on your contents insurance seems a waste of extra insurance if they are.
