"PREGNANT women are being offered free hair cuts and beauty treatments on the NHS if they quit smoking.
The Health Enhancement Reward Scheme (HERS) is being piloted in Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds by the Suffolk Stop Smoking Service.
Women who sign up to the scheme - which is costing £5,000 - can earn women rewards such as a hair or beauty treatments if they stay smoke-free."
"Anyone interested in the scheme can call 0800 085 6037 or visit www.suffolkstopsmokingservice.co.uk."

What about us pregnant women that never took up the disgusting habit in the in the first place? What do we get? Diddly squat! Ridiculous.0

I do understand your view on this but I think its a great idea to give a little extra incentive to women who want to kick the habbit especially at a time when it is so important. as an exsmoker myself I know how hard it is and People who say just being pregnant should be enough obviously do not understand addiction at all.
:T :T :T :T0 -
I understand addiction, but this is basically bribing grown women! It's cack, giving women things to say well done for NOT poisoning their babies.0
-
I just think its a good idea to give any incentive to stop them from doing it, having positive supportive people who want to help and not judge them makes a nice change.

Knowing you will have a healthy baby at the end should be incentive enough, this is basically saying you wont give up smoking for the health of your baby but you will for a beauty treatment for yourself, it is wrong. They should reward mothers who do not poison their babies and not to the ones that do.0

What a ridiculous scheme - typical of this damned government.
I don't have kids but I gave up smoking after 10 years and I did it completely through willpower - without even the incentive of a life growing inside of me.
God, how many people do you think will either a) "take up" smoking just to stop and get the rewards
b) stop smoking long enough to get their beauty treatment and start again as soon as baby is born, no doubt whilst still breastfeeding.
Makes me so angry.Living with Lupus is like juggling with butterflies0 -
